Hello! I’m Meg, or Megan.

I went to the Academy of Art University in San Francisco for Illustration and Fine Art, first starting my art career as a gallery artist, with side gigs in photography and graphic design — the field I eventually spent 10 years in.

However, sometimes your body tells you when it’s time to make a change, and just before COVID, my shoulders had decided they’d had enough of carrying a camera. It felt like a good time to start drawing again… at least, at a hobby level.

The iPad Pro made the transition as easy as possible, and much more physically viable. No matter what, redeveloping forgotten skills required patience and hella humility, but I could put in the work 30 minutes at a time, in-between gigs, or in my pjs after work. There was no reason not to.

Simultaneously, COVID was when my husband and I started building Offbeat in General — the general store and sandwich deli in Taylor, MS that we both own and manage. I designed the store’s logo, as well as thematic swag: hats, notebooks, and stickers.

And here we are in 2025 — building an art website after not having one for ten years. When I’m not hustling for sandwiches or art, I’m out taking nature photos with my Instax EVO, playing an indie game on the Steam Deck, or cuddling with our two dogs. It’s funny how things come back around again.
